The papers of this prolific New Jersey poet include 74 ruled notebooks of poetry, translations, lecture notes, publisher/editor information, and clippings. The collection also includes programs, brochures, exhibit catalogs, bibliographies, and a guest book for his historic home in Greenwich, N.J. There is reference to Ankenbrand's active membership in the Haddonfield Arts and Crafts League and the Society of New Jersey Artists. Copies of Ankenbrand's published works reside in the Templana Collection.

Frank Ankenbrand, Jr. was born in Philadelphia on Oct. 2, 1905 and graduated from Temple University in 1941. Ankenbrand studied art at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art and the Philadelphia Graphic Arts Club. He taught at the Valley Forge Military Academy and Haddonfield High School, as well as being active in the Vineland Historic and Antiquarian Society.
